Konductor is a content management platform that combines an extendable service, a Dreamweaver plug-in and an AIR based content editor to create a seamless workflow from site designer to content owner. The designer's workflow remains intact and uninterrupted so Dreamweaver can still be the tool of choice for creating the website and its templates.

The model for Konductor content management is SaaS (Software as a Service). For the average user this means there is no complicated server side set up or maintenance and third party developers can easily add functionality as the Konductor service includes a REST API.

Clients can manage their content using the Konductor desktop AIR application. The application allows for wysiwyg editing, real time image optimization, and offline content editing. Clients can now do the work of content management without the learning curve with this easy to use, dedicated desktop application.

Konductor combines a some of the newest and most stable technologies available to deliver an outstanding content management experience. Our Konductor client application that content managers use to update their sites is based on Adobe AIR technology, which is currently installed on over 100 million computers.

Behind the scenes, our servers use memcached (the same distributed computing technology used by Wikipedia, YouTube, Twitter and Digg) to deal with the massive amounts of traffic that come their way. It allows your sites to be delivered faster and it means they can handle an immense amount of traffic.

Our applications also communicate with each other using REST web services. This is an industry standard protocol for exchanging data, and we have documented our method of doing this as well. If for any reason you need to integrate your own solutions with Konductor, we have exposed everything you need to make that happen.

Konductor is created for Designers to offer their clients efficient content management.  Once you have created an account you simply login to create a new site, upload your templates and content, and you’re on your way to providing your clients with a CMS they will use and love.

Yes, Konductor provides complimentary hosting with each package. This allows us to automatically take care of things like ensuring that your domain name is pointed to the right servers and that all of the servers are up-to-date, secure, and ready to handle as much load as you can throw at them. This also removes the need to setup the servers or manage the connection settings. And because we spend the time making sure that our servers are in tip-top shape, you won't have to, meaning you'll have more time to design beautiful websites.

You sure can!  Any XHTML/CSS site will fit with Konductor. Sites that have been built using Dreamweaver (including Contribute sites) are an ideal fit, since even less effort is required to move them to Konductor.

The Konductor extension for Dreamweaver and the Konductor application are free of charge.

Since Konductor is software as a service, a monthly fee allows site owners and site editors to make changes through the powerful management application. On an annual plan Konductor collects only $20 a month, which includes complimentary hosting for the site as well.

The extension is available for Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4.
